Camp Hill is a borough in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, with a population of about 8,000. The name “Camp Hill” is believed to stem from a split in the congregation of a Peace Church, where one faction began meeting outdoors at a hill that was previously known as White Hill prior to the Civil War, and was the location for the Battle of Sporting Hill during the Civil War.
